It's Spring 2009, and Photos Are Coming!

A page showing photos of how the trees are growing to block the lights, camera and windows from the commercial folks next door. This page doesn't kick into gear until late Oct, or early Nov., but it's set up and ready to go.

I started planting Oct 2007. I planted two 8 to 9' October Glories and said, hmm... I need more! Most of the rest of the trees came from Sooner Plant Farm. The final tally is 14 trees, 13 maples with one non-maple. The idea was to create, over time, a wall of leaves between my property and a new commercial property and its lights next door. The truth is, it's been more of a Zen thing for me ever since.

Each was planted with at least a circumference of at 3x the rootball and with the intention of creating a "bowl" for water collection.

I've basically watered them weekly, sometimes less, and of course if we get a good rain I skip a week.

And then this summer I rebuilt the "bowls" with dirt mounded around the originals for depth, and replaced the wood chip mulch.

The photos here are, more than anything, a way for my friends and family to peek in and see what's going on. Both of them!

When you click on a photo, it will send you to a page with a series of photos for that tree type.

Basically I'm taking you from the front to the back of the property.

Some notes:

The 1st, 2nd and 4th Amor Maples were planted later, around the end of December, 2007.
The 5th and 6th in Oct 2008.The same for the 2nd Japanese maple, which was planted in spring, 2008.
